ZenPlex and Mana Plex

With the extreme dry weather and heat we have had over the past weeks, crops suffered a hard hit. This has put a lot of growers in the mind set that they do not want to spend any more money in producing a soybean crop than is absolutely necessary. But with the recent rains the crops have responded well and are in most cases still holding their own. We have done some test with foliar micro-nutrients in NC. Every field we sprayed stayed greener longer and held more foliage than those not sprayed. This has been a very effective tool in helping maintain plant health while going through adverse conditions. While it is defiantly understandable not to spend money on a crop that does not have a chance in producing a return, we should not give up on soybeans just yet. Acephate - As predicted, Acephate is getting a little short. Most retailers have product on hand, but manufactures are out and running behind on production. This is a result of the increase crop acreage and the loss of the old "standby" Temik. We are seeing some small price increases from producers, and are being told that production should be back in order by the first of June.

Diuron - Product is still short, but there is some in the market place. We took a large position late last fall on Diuron 4L which has proven to have been a good move. There seems to be enough product to go around at the moment, but if you plan to use it this year, I would go ahead and take delivery to insure you will not get caught up in the "Product's short, price is up" senerio.

Glyphosate - Prices have stabilized the spring and I think they will remain where they are now through the summer. I think we'll see the usual "end of year" run on pricing, but I do not expect the increases we had a few years back. I will keep a eye on this one and let you know if I see any big changes. Ignite- I have seen a increase of $1.50-$2.50/gal price increase on ignite over the last few weeks. I think we may see a little more "increase" as spraying increases and product in certain areas get a little short.

Here is a little tip for all our cotton growers. Industry experts are saying that DIURON 4L is going to be,and in some cases already is extremely short. The reasons stated are a limited supply of DIURON techinical, the existing need for the railroad  industry and the huge increase in cotton acres across the country. We have been working with manufactures to acquire product for the upcoming year, at this time we do have limited amount of product in the 2.5 gallon containers.  Please feel free to request a quote or call to lock product in at current prices, as we expect prices to rise sharply over the next two months.

Glyphosate is also a product to be watching, as we have seen a slight increase over the last month in cost.  We are currently in position to offer great deals on any of your glyphosate needs.
